Dylda would struggle for Oscar
The Russian Oscar Committee will send drama Dylda to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for consideration. The film tells the story of two young women who try to start a new life in a post-war Leningrad. The main roles in the film of Kantemir Balagov were performed by Victoria Miroshnichenko and Vasilisa Perelygin.
The international premiere of Dylda took place on May 16 at the Cannes Film Festival, where the film won the prize of the International Federation of Film Press FIPRESCI. The drama with a big success is distributed in Europe. In France alone, the picture has already earned a little more than $1 million. As expected Dylda will be also released in US.
As for our work on this project, the creative team of Algous Studio helped the director to give the look of post-war Leningrad to modern St. Petersburg.
